Situated just 1 mile north of Wheathampstead in Hertfordshire, just 10 minutes from Junction 4 on the A1, 15 minutes from Junction 9 and 10 on the M1, 6 miles from St Albans and 9 miles from Luton airport, Mid-Herts offers challenging golf in a friendly club atmosphere. see local map
Founded in 1892, the 18 hole course is set out on Gustard Wood Common and spans some 6060 yards off the white tees. Noted for its heathland landscape with heather, juniper and gorse, the course offers a challenging round where your accuracy and strategy will be tested to the full.
The club prides itself on its friendliness and accessibility. New members can quickly meet other golfers by joining in fun and serious competitions or at the regular and varied social events. There is an active and strong ladies' section with over 130 playing members. One of the major benefits is that except for special events there is no need for golfers to book tee-times.
The club has a policy of encouraging, supporting and integrating juniors and consequently has an active, strong and enthusiastic junior section, with regular competitions, matches and plenty of opportunity for coaching.
